Reporting to
Communication
Communication between home and school is highly valued at Baringa School. Strong partnerships with families help us to support each student’s learning, wellbeing and individual needs.
To support regular communication, each student in our Primary Unit is provided with a communication book or diary. Families and staff can use this to share important information, provide updates and communicate messages between home and school.
Families are also welcome to contact the school via the school email address (baringa.sch@education.vic.gov.au) or by phone (5127 1744) to ask questions, share relevant information or discuss matters relating to their child.
Sentral notifications are also used to communicate important school information, reminders, upcoming events and updates to families. Families are encouraged to regularly check Sentral notifications to stay informed about school activities and important information.
By providing a range of communication options, we aim to maintain open, respectful and collaborative partnerships between home and school.
Reporting
Student Support Group (SSG) meetings are held during Terms 1 and 3 and provide an important opportunity for families and school staff to work collaboratively to support each student. These meetings focus on individual learning goals, student progress, wellbeing and the planning of educational programs and supports.
Formal written reports are provided to families twice each year, at the end of Terms 2 and 4. Reports provide an overview of each student’s progress and achievement across relevant learning areas and individual learning goals. Reports are published electronically and can be accessed by families through the Parent Portal.
