Physical

At Baringa School, Health and Physical Education supports students to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to make healthy, safe and active choices that enhance their health and wellbeing. Through a diverse range of movement experiences, students develop and refine fundamental movement skills, build confidence and discover the benefits of regular physical activity.

Our Physical Education program provides opportunities for students to learn through movement in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. As students progress through the school, they build on their skills and understanding, developing greater coordination, control and confidence. They learn to apply movement skills individually, with others and as part of a team, while combining movements to create more complex patterns and sequences.

Students are encouraged to participate in activities that reflect their individual abilities, needs and interests. Through active play, structured movement activities, games, sports and a range of physical experiences, students develop an understanding of movement, body mechanics, teamwork and the importance of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.

At Baringa School, Physical Education aims to foster lifelong positive attitudes towards movement and physical activity, supporting every student to participate, achieve and enjoy being active.

PE Annual Sporting

Events Calendar

The following calendar provides an overview of the school’s key sporting events throughout the year. These events offer valuable opportunities for students to develop their sporting skills, build confidence, practise teamwork and sportsmanship, and represent the school within the wider community.

Participation in sporting events will vary depending on the nature and requirements of each event. Students must demonstrate Baringa’s school values of being a safe, respectful learner to be selected to represent the school at any of the below sports days/camps. This ensures that students who participate can do so safely, positively and successfully.

Baringa School

Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be a Learner

Baringa acknowledges the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to sky, land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Our school is located on Gunaikurnai land.
